Online Help Desk Development

As department chair, I led the successful development and implementation of an online Help Desk staffed by secondary building librarians to support teachers during the district’s transition to and during remote learning. Recognizing the urgent need for just-in-time instructional and technical support, we designed a streamlined workflow and scheduling system that allowed librarians to provide real-time assistance with digital tools, instructional design, and curriculum resources.
This collaborative effort not only leveraged the expertise of our librarians across grade levels but also strengthened their role as instructional leaders during a critical time. A bank of on-demand "How-To-Guides" was also developed and available for teachers to access at any time. The Help Desk became a trusted resource for educators, significantly increasing teacher confidence and capacity in delivering high-quality remote instruction. Upon our return to in-person instruction, our librarian team has continued to provide excellent instructional tech assistance to teachers--meeting teachers were they are at in the instructional tech needs. |
