eBook Platform Proposal 

Approaching a full academic year of remote learning for the 2020-2021 school year, I directed my AAPS Library Services Department to review available ebook platforms available to the school market. After considered comparisons and discussions, our department made the collaborative decision to propose to our Board of Education to purchase access to the Sora digital ebook and audiobook platform with supporting funding for consecutive years of use. 

I presented the proposal to our BOE in August of 2020, and the purchase and use of Sora for all of our AAPS students and staff was unanimously approved.

Our district still has access to and funds the platform and has checked out over 800,000 copies in under 5 years of having access to Sora. We continue to see high usage of the platform, and as of March 2025, we are the only public school district in Michigan to achieve the milestone of over half a million checkouts.
