Districtwide Development of AI Literacy Unit

To enhance digital and information literacy across the district, targeted work was completed by district librarians, resulting in the development of leveled AI literacy lessons for 5-12 grades to be delivered during the 2025-26 school year.

Students, teachers, and families districtwide will benefit from increased exposure to AI and digital literacy concepts through engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction.

Objectives Achieved

• Collaboration and Alignment: District librarians partnered with ITD and Ed Tech teams to create AI literacy lessons tailored to elementary, middle, and high school learners. All lessons were aligned with AASL and district technology standards to ensure relevance and rigor.
• Cross-departmental coordination between Library Services, ITD, and Ed Tech improved alignment of digital learning goals.
• A robust set of ready-to-implement AI literacy lessons is now available for use in both library and classroom settings at all building levels.​
